AT&T is considering selling its voice and data services in Australia.

The telco has said that it would be a strategic decision and will only make the move if it is profitable, The Wall Street Journal reports.

It is not clear whether the telco plans to invest in the industry.

Verizon said in a statement to The Wall St Journal that it has “strong” plans to bring its voice, video, and text services to Australia.

But the telcos plan to expand to other markets where it already has a presence.
